The Climate Week NYC took place from September 17-24, 2023 and included 400 events and activities. The yearly Climate Week is hosted by the Climate Group, an international non-profit organisation, in partnership with the United Nations General Assembly and is run in coordination with the United Nations and the City of New York. It brings together civil society representatives, business leaders and political decision makers (on various levels).
The Climate week NYC was attended by several people who are also involved in the Tropical Forest Arena and included events of high relevance for tropical forests, such as "Deforestation-Free cattle ranching in the Tropical Andes countries" hosted by the Tropical Forest Alliance and WWF, "High Integrity Tropical Forests Initiative: Opportunities and Market Demand" hosted by The Wildlife Conservation Society, "Fostering Forest Carbon Credits in Brazil: Perspectives and Case Studies" hosted by Reservas Votorantim and ECCON Soluções Ambientais, "Amazon Economics" hosted by the Columbia Business School (The Tamer Center for Social Enterprise) or "Achieving climate ambition through protecting biodiversity and community inclusivity in eastern Indonesia" hosted by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
