Use of cookies

In order to design our website optimally for you and to be able to improve it continuously, we use cookies. A cookie is a small amount of data that a browser receives from websites visited by the user, and which is stored as a file on the user's hard drive. Newsletter

You can sign up for our Newsletter using the subscription form on our website. For us to send you newsletters, you must register your e-mail address with us. You do not have to give any further information (like name or affiliation). Your email address is stored properly, not shared with others and is deleted when it is no longer in use. We will use the email address to send you our newsletter as well as invitations to our events. You can unsubscribe from our Newsletter using the link provided at the bottom of each Newsletter or by sending an email to info@tropicalforestarena.org

Registration for events

Via our website, newsletter, and personal invitation emails it is possible to sign up for events. In this connection, we collect information such as name, affiliation, and contact information in addition to allergies or special needs related to the participation in the event. This personal data will not be used for any purpose other than administering the event. We will use your email address to contact you for further events of interest. You can opt out of this if you do not wish to receive any invitations to future events by sending an email to the address below. In case you agree to be a speaker and to present at one of our seminars, your name and affiliation will be included in the event description on the website.

Storage of personal information

Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. The Newsletter subscriptions are administered via the website and therefore via Wix.com.

When registering for an event using the form provided in the event invitation, the responses are collected via Microsoft Forms and are stored on NMBU’s OneDrive. The list of people registered is accessible to members of the Tropical Forest Arena Steering Committee. Sensitive information (like allergies or special needs) will only be accessible to one person in charge of the coordination of the events and will only be shared (if possible, without disclosing the identity of the respective person) to the degree as to facilitate for the needs and only strictly in relation to the event for which the registration was made.

 

Communication

We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to send you invitations to our events, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, and to send updates about the Tropical Forest Arena.

Termination of relationship with the Tropical Forest Arena

If you no longer wish to be contacted by the Tropical Forest Arena, we will terminate your relationship by marking the relationship as closed in our database. You can do this by emailing us:
